Mercury
Hammered Dulcimer
Mercury explores improvised augmented hammered dulcimer. The body of hammered dulcimer is being resonated with dual solid drivers. The solid drivers project live granulated music fragments and prepared soundscapes into the dulcimer corpus. This technique results in rich evolving soundscapes, which are simultaneously captured over set of studio grade microphones.
Mercury recording involved a pair of AKG414’s, overhead AT4033’s and pair of DPA’s microphone placed inside the dulcimer. All the tracks acoustic audio stems along with the granulated audio stem mastered in Dolby Atmos.
